Books on My Summer TBR 2019 (Top Ten Tuesday)

It is summer! The sun is shining and the ice cream is melting. Just like it is supposed to. Summer is meant for reading (and eating ice cream) if you ask me. Here are the books I hope to read this summer!

I Spy a Boy Next Door by Samantha Armstrong

I have just become a member at BookSirens and got pre-approved for this ARC. I am really excited to read this book which I expect to be a light quick read. It is supposedly about Mallory who is spying on the boy next door, Troy. She convinces her mum to start in public school where she encounters him in real life. Troy isn’t at all like what Mallory thought and he wants nothing to do with her. The summary from Goodreads promises dark secrets and heart break.

A Girl Called Shameless by Laura Steven

I was the lucky winner of Fictionally Sam’s give-away and chose this book as my prize. This is the second book about Izzie O’Neil. I was a big fan of the first book The Exact Opposite of Okay and rewarded it with five stars. According to Goodreads the second book is going the be “funnier, ruder and angrier” .

Scythe by Neal Shusterman

I read a great review of this book somewhere (so sorry i can’t remember by whom) and added it straight away to my TBR. No I have bought a copy and hope to read it this summer. This is supposedly a great YA dystopia novel!

Only Ever Yours by Louise O’Neill

I really enjoyed Asking for It also by O’Neill and I really want to read more books by her. This is also a YA dystopia but with a feministic twist. I really want to read more books about feminism and equality and I think this might be a place to start.

Holes by Louis Sachar

I read this book in mandatory school many years ago. I remember enjoying it. A couple of weeks ago I thought about it but couldn’t remember the title. However a week later or so in a books store I found a cover that caught my attention and read the synopsis on the back of the book and realised it was this one. I bought it straight away. Now I am really looking forward rereading this book and see what I think of it so many years later.

ACOTAR series by Sara J Maas

Laster summer I devoured this series in a weeks time. I would like to reread this series to see if it really was as good as I remember it and to see if I can discover some clues I didn’t see the first time around.

Vow of Thieves by Mary E Pearson

This is the second book in the Dance of Thieves series and will be released the 6th of August. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Pearson’s debut series The Remnant Chronicles but I really loved the first book in this one. However I am bit afraid that it won’t live up to my expectations. But we will see. 😉

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim

This is another new release that also will be released the 6th of August. I haven’t read any from this author before but I am really excited to read this one. It is supposedly about a girl posing as a boy to be come one of the greatest taylor’s in the land.

Speak by Lauria Halse Anderson

I have had this om my TBR in forever and I feel so bad about it. But now I have discovered that I can read Speak on Libby! For those who are unfamiliar with Libby I can tell you that is a online global library, all you need is a library card! Anyway it is on Libby both as an ebook and as an audio book so now I have no more excuses!

All of This Is True by Lygia Day Penaflor

Another book available on Libby ! This has also been on my TBR in a while. I hope it to be in some way similar to One of Us is Lying (read my review here) it is at least a YA mystery as well.

That was all the books on my summer TBR! What books are on your TBR this summer? Do we have any of the same?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week’s topic is Books on My Summer TBR.
