April Round-Up

So the calendar says the first of May so it is time for a round-up of April. It is crazy how time goes by so fast! Here is a little recap of how my April has been :))

Books I have read and reviewed in April

I have read four books in April which is a good reading month for me considered school and everything 😀 Here are the books I have read in April!

One of Us IS Lying By Karen MacManus * * * *

OOUILThis was the first crime novel I have ever read! And I was not disappointed. This mystery-YA-crime novel had everything! You can read my review here!

Four by Veronica Roth * * *

In April I decided to finally read the books about Four in the Divergent Series. I read The Transfer, The Initiate, The Traitor and The Son as well as Free Four. I have wanted to read these small books (or should I say short stories?) for a while now. I discovered that my library had them as ebooks so I decided to try that out. I am usually not a fan of ebooks but since these books were so short I believed I could overcome that.
I don’t think I’m gonna review these books. But I found them entertaining as a fan of the series and I would recommend them. I had hoped you would learn more about Four and Tris relationship/connection but unfortunately, it is only in the last book that Tris occurs in. Due to this I really liked Free Four which among other scenes included the knife-throwing-scene from the perspective of Four. I wish we could get more of this :))

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han * * *

PSISLY coverIn April I also found time to read the sequel to To All The Boys I have Loved Before by Jenny Han. P.S I Still Love You was a cute read just as the first book was. I really enjoyed this quick and easy read. You can read my review here! I am definitely going to read the last book of this series as well!

Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi * * * * *

COBAB coverChildren of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi was perhaps my favourite book of the month. Though One of Us is Lying is a tough competitor for this title as well! Children of Blood and Bone was just WOW! Really Really great! I was into it from the beginning! I can’t wait for the next book to come out and to get some closure! I mean the ending was just …?!#%… arghh I wanna know what happened!
My review will be posted this week :))

Other things posted on my blog:

This month I also participated in one To Ten Tuesday. My TTT was a list of my favourite books! Since the topic was a freebie I decided to introduce you my favourite books. You can read my TTT here!

I also wrote my very first discussion post ‘My love/hate relationship with the Divergent Series (Spoilers)‘ It is always a little exciting when you try something new and it can also be a little scary. I hope this discussion post wasn’t a complete fail and that I will improve my writings skills so there can be more discussion posts in the future!

Other bookish things:

My blog turned one month the 23rd of April wiiie!!! I hope to have many years in front of me in this community! It has truly been a pleasure and everyone has been so kind and welcoming! Thank you for that <3

In April I also joined The Crown Book Club! In May we are reading The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven. I can’t wait to read this book and to take part in the discussion and the twitter chat. (You can read more about the Crown Book Club here!)

Another and maybe not so bookish thing that happened is that I now play the mobile game, Hogwarts Mystery! 😀 I really like it! It is chill but entertaining! Is anyone else playing?

Great post from around the book blogging community:

Evelina @ Avalina’s Books discusses her fears as a book blogger. I found this post really great and relevant. I felt I could relate to several things concerning international book bloggers. Check it out! ‘My Fears as a Book Blogger. Do You Have These Too?’

Vee @ Vee Reading talks about her reading habits. A very interesting post for someone like me who find to read 300 books a year as both crazy and impressive!
‘My Reading Style: How I Manage To Read 350 Books Last Year’

What’s up for May:

So for May, I plan on finishing Romeo and Juliet which I am currently reading and I plan to read The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven and Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi. If time allows it with my upcoming exams I also hope to read a YA fantasy maybe Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody or State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury.

  1. More praise for Children of Blood and Bone! I desperately need to read that! I want to read One of Us is Lying too!

  2. Happy One Month Anniversary! I haven’t read the Four novellas but I’ve been wanting to re-read the series but I haven’t had time. I’ve seen so much praise for Children of Blood and Bone and I recently purchased it and I can’t wait to read it. I’ve read One of Us is Lying and it was pretty good! I hope you have an amazing May.

    1. Thank you!! I found the novellas a quick and entertaining read but I find the series better.
I really hope you like Children of Blood and Bone!
      You too!

  3. I love the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series and recommend the last book. If you’ve enjoyed the series so far, you’ll definitely enjoy the finale. Congrats on one month of blogging!
