Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the summer! 😀
Today it is time for another round of TTT. This week topic books with sensory reading memories. This was a fun one but also a bit difficult. I am good at remembering the plot of the books I read but not always where I was, who I was with, or what I ate. However, I could come up with ten books with a clear sensory reading memory, so here we go!
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
I clearly remember that I finished this book at my summerhouse in my grandmother’s blue bedroom. I remember just laying in her bed crying for like 10 minutes. I felt so sad… The book was great though!
The Hunger Games Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
I remember driving car with my dad. And he got so annoyed with me because I had my nose in that book the entire two hours drive. But as I told him “It is such an exciting book I need to know whats gonna happen!”
Divergent by Veronica Roth
When I first read this book I was so caught in it! All I literally could think about was that damn book and what was gonna happen with Tris. I remember walking to training and saying to my self “Deep breath. Nicoline, you can not think more about this book now. You have the training to focus on and Johanna (my coach) will be angry with you if you are not focused.” I don’t know how but I managed to do it 😉
Amy’s Diary by Maureen Lee
I do not have a special feeling about this book. But I remember that I read the entire thing in one day to and from my training.
Me Before You by Jo Jo Moyes
This certainly has a special feeling related to it – heartbreak. I finished this amazing story in my family’s coach. I cried so much that my mother asked me several times if I was okay and if anything had happened. I reassured her it was just this book overloading my emotional heart that made me weep like a baby. (Please tell me I ain’t the only one…)
The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearst by Annie Darling
I remember getting a complete laughing fit on the train while reading this. I only remember it was something about a pyjamas and some pooh… But it was definitely funny!
The Exact Opposite Of Okay by Laura Steven
Another book giving me an absolute fit. Also on the train… quite embarrassing. But what can I say? Izzy O’Neil is hilarious!
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
I chose to read this sad but beautiful book when I was on vacation in Valencia intentionally. I thought that when you read something this dark you also need light. So I lay at the beach reading this. Argh, I could do a beach and a book right now.
Girl In Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow
Another dark book which I didn’t time with the seasons, however. I read this at Christmas time and my family found me so annoying because I was reading this book the entire Christmas holiday. Sorry guys I’ll make it up for you next year! Anyway, this book really left a “scar” on me. Maybe it was just the lack of daylight (it gets quite dark here in Denmark in winters) but this book left a feeling in me that I can’t forget.
Life On The Refrigerator Door by Alice Kuipers
I clearly remember many years ago sitting with my sister on the steps in front of your local cinema waiting for it to open. We killed the waiting time reading this great book out loud to each other. Great times :)))
Do you have books with a sensory reading memory too? What kind?
