PS. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

P.S. I Still Love You is the sequel to To All the boys I Have Loved Before by Jenny Han. Once again we follow Laura Jean and the dilemmas and insecurities that follow when you fall in love.

I read the first book some years ago but finally took the time to read the second – and it was worth it. Here are my thoughts on PS I Still Love You, a sweet book by Jenny Han!

Synopsis from Goodreads
Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.
She and Peter were just pretending. Except suddenly they weren’t. Now Lara Jean is more confused than ever.
When another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him return too. Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

In this charming and heartfelt sequel to the New York Times bestseller To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, we see first love through the eyes of the unforgettable Lara Jean. Love is never easy, but maybe that’s part of what makes it so amazing.

Well first of all this is just cute, really cute. It was a quick and easy read. There is not much to say about that.
But I was surprised how this book took off exactly where the first book ended. I didn’t mind, I just hadn’t expected that.

It was a quite long time since I read the first book so I must admit I had to do some googling. I remembered the first book roughly but only the main things about Laura Jean, the letters and Peter. But all minor details were gone from my memory. In such case, it is nice to have Wikipedia to give you a detailed summary 😉

I liked the plot of the book. Laura Jean and Peter as a couple; how will that go? Obviously, due to their differences, they would have their challenges but at some points, I felt Laura overdid them. From the moment she and Peter got (back?) together she questioned Peter’s devotion and compared herself to Geneive all the time. The latter annoyed me from the beginning but, in the end, Laure Jean learned 😉

My favourite part of the book was actually right at the beginning when Laura Jean seeks out Peter at his house. I loved when Peter messes with Laura Jean but eventually says “It’s called playing hard to get.” So sweet :)))
I also found Laura Jean a really nice character, apart from her doubting sides. I loved that she did so much baking! Wish I could do more of that! But I actually think that my favourite character was Laura Jean’s little sister Kitty. She was so cute and bossy!
And just for the record, I’m team Peter all the way so Josh and Jonny you can just leave now.

I found the story to be really cute and everything but I didn’t sense a deeper meaning with this book or why it was written. Maybe it doesn’t matter because the cuteness of the story is enough in itself. But what I got out of this book was that you should never compare yourself to others! Which I guess is also an important thing to remember!

Anyway, I am definitely going to read the third book Always and Forever and I just hope it is just as cute as this one!
