May Round-Up

Sooo super low reading month for me… and an even worse blogging month… I guess I really underestimated the stress of exams. But who cares?! Exams are done and June is upon us with lots of summer reading and blogging 😀

Books I have read in April

Amy’s Diary by Maureen Lee * * *

AD cover

This a very short book follows Amy during the second world war and how she deals with being a young woman in England during wartime. It was an interesting read based on the historical setting but I found the small 100 pages limiting the book’s full potential. You can read my mini review here 🙂

The Exact Opposite Of Okay by Laura Steven * * * * *

TEOOO cover

In May I also managed to read The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven and I am so happy that I did! This book was almost everything! It was provocative, challenging, sad, serious, cheeky and last but not least this book was hilarious! I laughed out loud several times – Izzy O’Neill is a such an entertaining and funny narrator! I couldn’t get enough of her!
But the importance of this books is that it challenges the norms of today’s society and how we treat women! There are a lot of things we should quit doing and a lot of things we should start doing. Anyway, I simply can’t wait for the sequel to come out! I hope to write a review and post it on my blog in June 😀

Other bookish stuff

As of now, I am 529 pages in War Storm by Victoria Aveyard!… Can’t wait for the final and to know how it all ends! I hope to keep you posted with a review once I am finished 😉

Great post from around the book blogging community

Evelina @ Avelina’s Books has made a new feature introducing new bloggers to the book blogging community. I believe this is the first of several posts take a look! #NewBloggersWelcome!! May Newcomers – Edition #1

What’s up for June!

So for June, I am going to finish War Storm and I plan on reading Emergency Contact which I didn’t get a chance to start on in May. Hopefully, I will read one or two other books but I haven’t really decided which – maybe Always and Forever, Laura Jean, because then i would have complete the series. 😉

  1. 2 books read sounds like a decent run for me. Maybe I’m underestimating what’s involved in book blogging. Can I ask what a good reading month looks like to you?

    1. I guess a good readig month for me is 4 books. Maybe 3 if they were long. Which I guess isn’t that much more than 2 ;)But I am relatively new to the book blogging community I have discovered that there are some bloggers who read MANY books a month. I, however, belong to the group that strives to read 4 books a month.

      1. I think I’m in your group. As much as I’d like to read more than that, I’ve got too much going on to commit to more than 4.

  2. Emergency Contact is on my list to read for this summer. I have a hardcover ready to go. I look forward to reading your review after I finish reading the book myself.
